From the size table in BIRKENSTOCK's printable US sizing template. Footwear is sold in EU sizes for everyone. The first column is labelled 'MM' by the brand: measure your foot in millimetres on the template and read the size from the table; 'US Ladies' is shown here as US Women. US cells are blank where the brand's table has no value. UK values are printed with decimal commas; they are shown here with points. The online fitting guide gives the same US-to-EU conversion (women US + 31, men US + 33).

Questions
Which length does Birkenstock's size chart list?
Birkenstock's charts give these lengths — Mondopoint: size in cm, given by the brand as foot length. A measured foot length and a size in cm are about 8 mm apart for the same size, so compare your own foot length only with a column on the same scale.
Does the official chart tell me how a Birkenstock shoe will fit?
Only in part. The chart gives the length each size is meant for; how a particular model fits also depends on its last, width and materials, which the chart does not show. Birkenstock itself advises: All footwear is listed in European sizes: women's US size + 31, men's US size + 33 gives the EU size. Measure your foot in millimetres on the printable template and look up that length in the table; every pair has its size and millimetre size in the footbed.
When should I not compare Birkenstock sizes with another brand?
When the two charts list different lengths. A measured foot length and a size in cm are about 8 mm apart, and the length of a foot is not the inside length of a shoe, so such a match can be half a size or more off. The converter matches only lengths on the same scale and lists the other brands separately.
When was Birkenstock's chart last checked?
On 2026-10-24, against Birkenstock's official size guide linked under each chart. The date changes only when the chart is checked again against the official page or its numbers change, not when this page's layout or wording changes.
