arche designs women's and men's shoes in its French studio in the Loire Valley, where it has been based since 1968, and makes most of them at a site near Tours. Checked against arche's own pages on 2026-11-03.

arche prints the chart sideways (one row per system); it is turned into one row per size here. EU is the brand's 'Europe/France' row, which equals its 'arche size' row. CM is 'Foot length in (cm)' and Inches 'Foot length in (inch)'. The brand also prints a foot-length range per size (e.g. 21.4 - 21.6 cm), and Italy (one size below EU) and Australia (same as US) rows; these are left out. Cells the brand marks '/' (no equivalent for that size) are left empty. Decimals are printed with a comma (34,5) and written here with a point. Its US row is labelled 'US' on the Woman table. The Japan row equals the foot length in cm.

arche's charts give these lengths — CM: size in cm, given by the brand as foot length · JP: size in cm, given by the brand as foot length. A measured foot length and a size in cm are about 8 mm apart for the same size, so compare your own foot length only with a column on the same scale.
Does the official chart tell me how a arche shoe will fit?
Only in part. The chart gives the length each size is meant for; how a particular model fits also depends on its last, width and materials, which the chart does not show. arche itself advises: All arche sizes are French sizes; use the conversion tables to find the equivalent.
When should I not compare arche sizes with another brand?
When the two charts list different lengths. A measured foot length and a size in cm are about 8 mm apart, and the length of a foot is not the inside length of a shoe, so such a match can be half a size or more off. The converter matches only lengths on the same scale and lists the other brands separately.
